We are happy to announce that all pilots who had aurum balances outstanding from the PLEX changes have now had their converted PLEX balances delivered as of downtime May 23rd.
In order to protect the market and value of PLEX during the transition, all pilots who had less than 1000 Aurum in their wallets did not have this converted to PLEX when the changes were deployed on May 9th, and were notified that they would receive their aurum balance in PLEX three months after the deployment of the PLEX changes.
After careful consideration and close monitoring of the market, we have decided to reimburse these PLEX earlier.
Today’s daily downtime was extended slightly in order to allow for a reimbursement script to be run, and all pilots should now have their outstanding PLEX balances reimbursed.
Join our next mass test on Tuesday May 23rd, and help continue testing our latest PvE content, the Blood Raider Shipyards and it’s interaction with Time Dilation.
We invite you to join our next mass test on the test server Singularity this Tuesday, May 23rd, at 17:00 EVE time (=UTC). We are going to continue testing the NPC combat, Blood Raider shipyards, and the server performance, especially around Time Dilation
All participants will receive a reward of two million skillpoints (available only on the test server Singularity). Please note that numbers, art assets, and other game properties on the test servers are not final and may change before they are released to Tranquility.
Hello insightful capsuleers!
At the Ship and Module Balance presentation during Fanfest 2017 we discussed the plans for a major rebalance of Tech 3 Cruisers this summer. This segment is available for viewing on our YouTube channel if you missed it.
Following the example of the successful Tactical Destroyer focus group, we are opening applications for a new Strategic Cruiser Focus Group to help refine and improve the designs for this T3 Cruiser rework.
The goal of the group will be to provide CCP feedback from a smaller group than the general EVE community for faster discussion with improved clarity. We want the group to be composed of experts from a wide variety of gameplay styles impacted by Strategic Cruisers so that we can hear as many relevant perspectives as possible. We will be aiming to form the focus group with between 10 and 15 members.
If you think that you would make a good fit for this Focus Group please post in this forum thread explaining why you think you would be a good fit. In your forum post please make sure you provide the explanation of why you think we should consider you for the focus group. Mentioning the kind of T3 Cruiser gameplay you are most familiar with can help us pick a group that contains a wide variety of perspectives.
Thanks, and we hope many of you will apply to join us for this focus group!
-Team Five 0

Greetings once again combative Capsuleers
Before we get to the prizes, a bit of housekeeping. Signups for teams in Alliance Tournament XV are still ongoing and if you haven’t submitted your application yet, make sure you do so before 2017-05-23 23:59UTC. You can find the application form here.
We’ve also had a couple of common questions from teams entering:
If you have any other questions or difficulties signing up for the tournament, you can always file a support ticket under CCP Community Team to get in contact with us (just make sure to mention AT XV in the subject).
Alliance Tournament XV will be following the same prize structure as we introduced in AT XII and used in all Alliance Tournaments since then. However, with Alliance Tournament we complete the cycle of pirate factions (Angels, Guristas, Sansha, Blood Raiders, Serpentis) and as such may make more radical changes to the prize structure for future tournaments. But I’m pretty sure you’re more interested in the prizes for this year, so with further ado, here’s what you’re fighting for!
The Alliance Tournament Cup is an in-game inventory item of which only one copy may ever exist. Every year we edit the description of the item to reflect the complete list of former tournament winners and move the item to the possession of the most recent winners.
The Alliance Tournament Cup was given to The Tuskers Co. alliance in Alliance Tournament XIV, and after the conclusion of Alliance Tournament XV it will be taken from wherever it resides at that time and given to the AT XV champions.
In previous tournaments, we have given in-game Alliance Tournament Medal inventory items for the teams that places first, second and third in the tournament. The number of medals granted was the same number as the maximum pilots that could be fielded in that tournament. We will be continuing to do this for Alliance Tournament XV.
We will also be giving out medals to every character that was a member of the participating alliances on the first day of the tournament. These will appear on the character sheet, exactly like a medal awarded by a corporation. There will be medals for Tournament Competitor, Top 32, Top 16, Top 8, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st. Each character will receive only the highest medal that their alliance earned.
Remember, the medals will only be granted to characters in a participating alliance on the first day of the tournament (July 29th).
As with previous Alliance Tournaments, we will be distributing the PLEX collected as entry fees as prizes in the tournament. If a very large number of PLEX are bid during the secret auction, the number of PLEX awarded may potentially increase.
This year, the PLEX will be awarded as follows:
Ever since the 7th Alliance Tournament, the main prizes each year have been a set of special edition frigates and cruisers, with unmatched combat prowess. Only 50 of each type of frigate or cruiser are given each tournament.
As with Alliance Tournament XII, this year we will be distributing the special edition prize ships to the top 4 teams, with each team receiving an equal number of cruisers and frigates.
This year, the ships on offer from the Independent Gaming Commission (IGC) are based on Serpentis ships. Skilled pilots are sure to be able to use the strengths of these ships to pin down and obliterate their enemies. The preliminary ship stats are as follows (and may be subject to change):
Gallente Frigate Bonus per level:
10% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret falloff

More about EVE Vegas:
EVE Vegas is our annual party in the desert, and is known by many of our players as “the Fanfest of North America”.
A celebration of all things EVE Online, the event is designed from the ground up to provide a chilled out, laid back atmosphere with plenty of awesome spaceship content from both Developers and Players. It’s also an epic party where you have the opportunity to meet your wingmen, corpmates and alliance brethren, and raise a glass (or ten) to all the spaceship violence you’ve engaged in together over the years.
This year the event will be hosted from October 6th – 8th at a new venue right on the Las Vegas Strip, The Linq Hotel & Casino.
If you’re intending on coming along this year, you should be sure to book your tickets as soon as possible, as we’re seeing record sales with more than 700 tickets for the event already sold by the start of May.
At the current pace, the event will sell out during the summer, so be sure to get your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!
EVE Vegas 2017 is shaping up to be the largest North American gathering of capsuleers in the history of EVE Online. Don’t miss out on this epic celebration!
Over the course of the last couple of hours, we have received a number of reports of issues with gifting in the New Eden Store.
At this point in time, the gifting system is returning a “Purchase Failed” error. This applies to the gifting of all services, SKINs and apparel in the New Eden Store.
We are currently investigating the issue, and hope to have this resolved as soon as possible.
Apologies for any inconvenience this issue may cause!
The next o7 episode will air on Sunday May 28 at 20:00 UTC (EVE time), taking a look at what’s happening in EVE and the EVE community.
We love to include player created content so we want to call on content creators to reach out or send us content for the show. It can be an ad for your corporation, alliance, stream or community project/event. It can be a video intended to entertain or educate the community and if you have a good idea and think you can deliver something before the content deadline of May 25, please feel free to reach out to discuss it or ask us anything you need to know – firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ads should be 15 seconds long – other video content should be no longer than 1-3 minutes. All videos needs to be somehow EVE related and void of copyrighted or inappropriate content.
We’re also accepting shoutout requests for anything you think deserves attention or praise!
We look forward to hearing from you, and of course to see you all on our Twitch channel on May 28!

Greetings glory hungry spaceship captains!
I am pleased to announce that the 15th Alliance Tournament will be kicking off on July 29, 2017. While more details regarding all aspects including the ruleset for this year’s tournament will be published at a later date, there are a few things I can confirm now, and some changes for this year I can share with you.
The format of AT XV will be similar to last year’s Alliance Tournament. 64 alliances will duke it out in a double elimination format where all matches matter. Additionally, we will be moving from the three-weekend schedule used in AT XIV back to a four-weekend schedule. This means that during the first weekend of the tournament, we will be running the matches in two systems simultaneously, with a broadcast by EVE NT. The second weekend will have a single match being played at a time with a broadcast again from EVE NT. The final two weekends will be run with a broadcast from CCP’s EVE TV, with the grand final taking place on August 20.
To fly with an alliance in the Alliance Tournament XV you will need to have been a member of that alliance by downtime one week from now (2017-05-16, 11:00 UTC). As we are giving a window for players to move themselves to their home alliance, we will not be making any exceptions for anyone that has not joined their alliance after this date. If you are unable to move alliances before the deadline, please file a support ticket before the deadline under CCP Community Team. Please make sure to include “AT XV” in the title of the ticket when submitting it. If you have other membership issues (such as being kicked accidentally from corp) after the deadline, please also file a support ticket. As always, each alliance may only field one team.
There will be future Dev Blogs in the coming weeks which cover the rules, broadcast schedule and sign up details, so stay tuned! For those who want to go back and relive past glory, matches from previous Alliance Tournaments are available on the EVE Online YouTube channel.
Signups for teams are open as of this news item, and prospective teams can have their alliance executor fill out this form. Signups are open until 2017-05-23 23:59UTC. We will be offering places similar to last year, with the top 16 teams returning from AT XIV having the option to directly enter the tournament at a cost of 2500 PLEX. Any slots unused by returning teams will be distributed in the secret auction.
16 additional spots in the tournament will be available in a secret auction that opens as of this news item and closes on 2017-05-23 23:59 with the team signups. Minimum bid for the secret auction is 2500 PLEX, and bids are only accepted in increments of 250 PLEX. Initial bids are made via the signup form. In the event of tied bids, the bid submitted first will be accepted. Auction results will be announced on 2017-05-24.
The final 32 positions in the tournament will be awarded based on feeder rounds using the AT XV rules (including a maximum team size of 10 pilots). The format of the feeder rounds will depend on the number of teams entering. These rounds will be played on 2017-06-10 and 2017-06-11 on Thunderdome. Entry to the tournament through the feeder round costs a 2500 PLEX deposit, which will be refunded if the team competes and does not win their matches in the feeder round.
Teams (including all those participating in the feeder rounds) will be granted access to Thunderdome from 2017-05-24 so that teams can practice. For more information on Thunderdome and its availability in the leadup to the feeder rounds and the tournament, please keep watching the EVE Alliance Tournament Discussion forum.
When signing your team up, please indicate which methods you would like to use. If you have any issues signing up or have other questions, please file a ticket under CCP Community Team. Please make sure to include “AT XV” in the title of the ticket when submitting it.
We will once again be opening up the application process for players who would like to be PVP commentators. These elite players are handpicked by us to fly out to Iceland for the tournament finals played over the final two weekends, joining the team here at CCP HQ to help us run the live broadcasts.
As a commentator you’ll be on the set discussing the tournament, tactics, teams and talking with developers about EVE live on air. You’ll also take shifts in the commentary booth providing live commentary on the matches themselves. You need to know your PvP and you need to know how to keep on talking! Finally, you’ll be helping us create some extra videos about the tournament and the teams participating during the week between the two final weekends.
Alliance Tournament XV will broadcast on EVE TV for two consecutive weekends starting on Saturday, August 12 and ending with the grand finale on Sunday, August 20. Flights (from all Icelandair destinations) and accommodations are supplied by us. All you need is a little spending money.
Are you interested? The next step is to check this short list and make sure you match what we’re looking for!
If you are interested in taking part, please email us at email@example.com by 23:59 UTC (Eve Time) on Sunday May 28, 2017 with the following information. Those lucky enough to be selected for the second round of eliminations must be available to attend voice chat interviews on Saturday June 3, 2017. The chosen commentators will be announced on the o7 show.
A final note: The Tournament from the perspective of a commentator is an amazing experience. You get to take part in a unique production, fly to Iceland, get a tour around the CCP office and chat to developers like almost no other players will ever get the chance to. But with great power comes great responsibility; planning and promotional shows take place during the weeks up to the final show and you may not be asked to fly to Iceland if you fail to take part or become unavailable during this time!
On behalf of the Tournament Team
Today New Eden turns 14 years old and here at CCP, we’d like to wish a happy 14th anniversary to all our pilots across the globe!
May 6th, 2003 marks the date when a flood of budding young intrepid pilots took to the skies with grand hopes and aspirations. 14 years on, those ideas and values have become the cornerstones of a thriving virtual world that that has been transformed into a living, breathing space saga that spans more than a decade of emergent storytelling.
From the second New Eden’s stargates first powered on, every action has had a reaction and every pilot’s aspiration and dream has been laid bare in the cosmos of EVE Online. Your successes, failures, struggles and triumphs have weaved an intricate player written backstory that now spans a colossal 14 years, or 5114 days.
It seems like only days ago we were celebrating the start of the second decade with EVE Online’s 10th Anniversary, yet here we are together, community and developers, marching relentlessly toward the midpoint of the second decade with New Eden’s 15th anniversary next year. It’s been an incredible ride, and there’s so much more still to come!
In celebration of the 14th Anniversary of EVE Online, you’ll find a few things in your redeeming system today to help the celebrations along:
These items will be redeemable until the night of May 23rd, so be sure to log in and pick them up before then in order to add the spiffy new capsule skin to your collection, and of course to shoot your closest wingmen and friends in the middle of the face with pretty spaceship fireworks.
If you require assistance or information on how to redeem items, please see this knowledgebase article in the EVE Online Help Center for further details.
Today, on the 14th Anniversary of EVE Online, we give our most sincere thanks to the intrepid pilots of New Eden, who form what is without a doubt the finest online gaming community in existence.
Your unswaying dedication and loyalty to the EVE Universe, and your continued support of the sprawling cosmos we’ve continued to build together over the last fourteen years inspires us more than ever to keep pushing the boundaries of what we can do together!
Fly dangerous, and prepare for another awesome year!
We are happy to announce that the 119.5 release will be deployed during an extended downtime on May 9th, 2017.
The 119.5 release will bring a whole host of new features including the PLEX changes, Alliance Logos on Citadels, new models for the Pacifier and Enforcer, as well as the New Introduction Video that debuted at Fanfest 2017. This release will also include visual updates to suns in New Eden, as well as the first wave of new NPC AI in the form of Blood Raider Shipyards.
These new Blood Raider Installations also bring with them the opportunity to acquire new Blood Raider capital vessels, including the Molok class titan, Chemosh class dreadnought and the Dagon class force auxilary.
Downtime for the release of 119.5 will start at the regular time of 11:00 UTC, and will run for an extended time until conversion of all PLEX has been completed.
The Tranquility cluster should be online and accepting connections once this process is complete, and we will provide live updates on progress during downtime via the EVE Online Forums and the @EVE_Status twitter feed. Be sure to follow @EVE_Status for all the latest information on the status of the Tranquility cluster.
For more detailed information on what’s coming in the 119.5 release, please take a look at the full patch notes for 119.5 on the community website here.
Please be aware that as part of the release, the changes to PLEX will cause a temporary drop in a character’s total net worth if they possess PLEX, as average market value for this new type of PLEX will start at 0 ISK. This should automatically correct itself as soon as average market prices are available for the new PLEX type.
Please also be aware that PLEX stored in the PLEX Vault will not contribute to the total net worth of a character as this is stored on an account basis, rather than a per character basis. PLEX stored in hangars and cargoholds will still contribute to total net worth.
With the May release, we’ll be making a few changes to PLEX to give capsuleers more control over PLEX and ISK during gameplay.
By breaking PLEX into smaller units, pilots will be able to trade smaller, or more variable amounts of PLEX to take full advantage of the market in New Eden. In addition to this, all pilots will now have direct access to the New Eden Store without having to jump through currency conversion hoops should they want to use PLEX to purchase SKINs and apparel. Full details of the changes to PLEX are available in the following Dev Blogs.
When these changes arrive on May 9th with the 119.5 release, we will also be changing the pricing structure of PLEX, so that they work like aurum used to: The more you buy, the bigger the bonus you get.
For some packs, this will mean a small increase in the price per PLEX, but the majority of PLEX packs have been converted to offer bigger bonuses.
At the same time, we are aware that the entry point price for PLEX is high with the existing system, so with the new PLEX system launching on May 9th, a couple of smaller packs will be introduced so that pilots who would like to spend a little less can access the benefits of PLEX for less.
The image below shows how the new PLEX pricing system will look after the deployment of 119.5 on May 9th.
